Every revolution starts with an educated generation. Just as the internet, smartphones, and electric vehicles reshaped the world, the solar revolution will thrive as future generations understand its power and potential. With this, SolarSquare, India’s leading home solar company, has launched India’s first storybook for children called, “Ravi & Savi” to educate young minds about the importance of solar energy.
The book is dedicated to solar energy literacy. Through this campaign, SolarSquare aims to educate children and families about the power and benefits of solar energy.
This initiative will include storytelling sessions, and outreach programs designed to teach children aged 5 and above about the benefits of solar power. By promoting solar literacy at a young age, SolarSquare is working to cultivate a generation that values sustainability.
Shreya Mishra, Co-Founder of SolarSquare, shared the inspiration behind the initiative, saying, “Whenever our field officers visited customers, we noticed that children were always part of the conversation—curious about solar, asking questions, and excited to see how it works. Families aren’t just adopting solar; they’re making it a topic of discussion for the next generation. Airlines create memorable experiences for young travelers—why not solar? We wanted to spark that same excitement. That’s why we created Ravi & Savi—to make solar energy fun, relatable, and inspiring for kids.”
The campaign’s reach extends beyond children to families, creating an opportunity for parents to engage in conversations about solar energy with their children. As kids read Ravi & Savi, they bring solar awareness into everyday family discussions, helping to ignite a ripple effect of change. This initiative encourages the adoption of clean energy solutions, making solar education a shared experience within the home.
Shreya further emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Today, only 1% of homes have solar, but tomorrow, it will be a way of life. Rooftop solar is a revolution unfolding before our eyes, and every home and family will eventually embrace it. I want my 4-year-old daughter, Amyra, to grow up knowing the power of the sun—not just as something that shines in the sky, but as the energy of a cleaner world, the energy of tomorrow.”
SolarSquare is a full-stack residential solar company that eliminates middlemen and ensures high-quality and safe solar installations, and a seamless customer experience. The company handles everything end-to-end for customers – from design to installation, government permits, enabling financing and post-sales regular solar maintenance.
The residential solar sector in India is growing rapidly, fueled by rising electricity costs, government incentives, and increasing environmental awareness. The #HarGharSolar initiative is driving adoption, but challenges like high upfront costs and regulatory hurdles remain. However, advancements in solar technology and the rise of companies like SolarSquare, which offer end-to-end solutions, are making solar energy more accessible and affordable. As the market evolves, residential solar holds significant potential to reduce energy costs, cut emissions, and support India’s renewable energy goals.
