CrowdStrike and Dynatrace have announced a strategic partnership that links security and observability data without forcing customers to copy it from one system to another, a direct challenge to traditional security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
The companies say three new integrations are available today. They connect the CrowdStrike Falcon platform with Dynatrace’s AI observability platform and its log management capabilities. CrowdStrike trades on Nasdaq as CRWD and Dynatrace on the New York Stock Exchange as DT.
The pitch rests on a familiar complaint about older platforms. According to the companies, legacy systems can force enterprises to move, duplicate and pay to analyse logs and other telemetry that sits across disconnected systems. Their alternative combines federated search, shared security and operational context, and flexible routing of logs and telemetry. They say this is expected to deliver faster, cheaper insights without vendor lock-in.
The three integrations
- Threat investigation without moving data. The Falcon platform can run federated search across Dynatrace observability and log telemetry. Security teams get application and infrastructure context without duplicating data or raising ingestion costs, the companies say.
- Incident response with unified visibility. Dynatrace combines CrowdStrike endpoint security telemetry with log, application and infrastructure data to help identify root causes, understand business impact and resolve outages, incidents and breaches faster.
- Lower data costs and complexity. Bindplane by Dynatrace routes logs and telemetry between CrowdStrike and Dynatrace, which the companies say reduces unnecessary data movement and gets more from existing technology investments.
CrowdStrike and Dynatrace also say they are deploying each other’s technologies across their own environments.
Daniel Bernard, chief business officer at CrowdStrike, was pointed about the incumbents: “The archaic SIEM platforms of yesteryear were built to collect data, not stop breaches. They’ve turned security into a tax on data. CrowdStrike and Dynatrace are flipping that model on its head. We’re bringing together best-in-class AI-native cybersecurity and observability to help customers move faster, spend less, and own their enterprise data destinies.”
Steve McMahon, chief customer officer at Dynatrace, framed it around AI-driven operations: “As AI-driven enterprises evolve toward more agentic operations, security and observability need to work together, not in silos. By bringing together Dynatrace’s logs and observability data with CrowdStrike’s industry-leading AI-powered cybersecurity, we’re giving customers the context they need to make faster decisions, automate with greater confidence, and accelerate progress toward autonomous operations.”
