The International Startup Festival (ISF) 2024 concluded at the Engineering Staff College of India, Gachibowli. The event witnessed huge participation of agri-tech, health, edu-tech, junicorns etc apart from software and technology startups. The main takeaway from the conference was to foster a problem-solving approach in society and create a proper ecosystem for innovators through the right mentorship, funding and providing market access to succeed in their ventures.
The last day had industry leaders delivering powerful ISF Talks. The last ISF Talk by Dr. Krishnamurthy V Subramanian, Executive Director, IMF, Former Chief Economic Advisor, Govt of India highlighted that India will be a $ 55 Trillion economy by 2047. It is doable if the economy maintains a real growth rate of 8% per annum till 2047. The three enablers for making this happen will be the increased formalization of the Indian Economy, Improved productivity and Innovation and lastly the Credit Creation.
Three roundtables were organized on the last day. Providing accessibility of quality healthcare services to all and how AI acts as a transformative tool in the healthcare sector. Disruption in the health care and health tech segment has plethora of opportunities for innovators to find tech enabled solutions to help the burgeoning population and limited resources. Startups should explore opportunities in this segment was the key takeaway from healthcare roundtable.
SET roundtable emphasized on reducing unemployment and increase of more jobs by focusing on leveraging technology to train the youth with skills suitable for the industry. Finally, Women in the business roundtable the panelists stressed upon believing in yourself, doing volunteer work. Women need to be confident to reach out to people to network. They need to have a process in place to optimize time utilisation and succeed in multiple roles they take up in life. Women need not be afraid to fail, learn fast and bounce back. To be a successful entrepreneur they need to have a conviction and never give up.
According to JA Choudhary, Chairperson and Convenor, ISF, “ We had 3 insightful days of deliberations at ISF 2024. These insights will help students, early startup founders and others to overcome the challenges and foster the growth of startups successfully. We once again emphasize that startups need to focus on a problem solving approach and continuously keep innovating. Startups should focus on Value Creation rather than focusing on Valuation. This is the sure path to success in the rapidly growing Indian Economy. Looking forward to more success stories emerging from ISF 2024. I thank all the Voulenteers for the tireless efforts to make ISF 2024 a grand successs.”
