vivo launched three phones in India on October 6: the X Fold6 foldable at ₹2,19,999, the V80 from ₹62,999, and the S2 FE from ₹38,999. It also introduced OriginOS 7 and gave a preview of a mixed reality headset. The headline numbers are a 6,900mAh foldable battery and a 10,000mAh budget-premium phone. Both come at prices above their rivals.

X Fold6 vs Galaxy Z Fold8: more battery, higher price
vivo says the X Fold6’s 6,900mAh battery is the biggest among foldables launched in India as of September 10, 2026. Its own footnote adds that this is the typical capacity, and that the rated figure is 6,670mAh. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold8, which launched in India on July 22, carries a 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging.
| vivo X Fold6 | Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 | |
|---|---|---|
| Price (12GB + 512GB) | ₹2,19,999 | ₹1,99,999 |
| Entry price | ₹2,19,999 | ₹1,79,999 (256GB) |
| Inner display | 8.02 inches | 7.6 inches |
| Rear cameras | 200MP + 50MP + 50MP | 50MP + 50MP |
| Battery | 6,900mAh (typical) | 4,800mAh |
On equal storage, the vivo costs ₹20,000 more. It is also about ₹60,000 above the previous X Fold5 at launch, according to a comparison by My Mobile India. Spec sheets do not decide a foldable, though. Durability, hinge feel and software support matter, and reviews of the X Fold6 are not yet available. BW Businessworld’s review of the Fold8 said its ₹1,79,999 base price makes it “a bit hard” to call a sensible purchase in India, a reminder that this is a niche category.
V80: a big battery, and a price that has climbed
The V80 replaces the V70, which launched in February at ₹45,999 and now lists at about ₹59,999 on Amazon. Both phones use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The V80 adds a larger battery (7,200mAh against 6,500mAh), and its 8GB + 128GB entry model costs ₹62,999. vivo pitches it at content creators, citing 4K cinematic video, ZEISS co-engineered imaging and more than 30 AI creative features. Those are the company’s claims, and camera quality will need testing.
S2 FE: the battery leader, but not the cheapest
The S2 FE’s 10,000mAh battery is among the largest in an Indian phone. The realme P4 Power, which also has a 10,001mAh battery, a Dimensity 7400 Ultra chip and a 144Hz display, launched in January at ₹25,999 and now sells for roughly ₹30,000 to ₹33,000. That puts the S2 FE about ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 higher. In return it has IP69 water and dust protection, per 91mobiles. vivo highlights a Guinness World Record for a 32-hour-37-minute product-testing livestream. Its own footnote says the result came under specific conditions and that actual performance varies, so treat it as a promotion, not a battery-life rating.
OriginOS 7
vivo also introduced OriginOS 7, which Gizbot reports is based on Android 17. The company says the update adds the Origin Smooth Engine, its Jovi assistant and cross-ecosystem connectivity, and that the X Fold6 ships with it. vivo’s footnotes say some of these features are limited to select devices and regions.
The headset: a preview, not a product
The vivo Vision Discovery Edition is not on sale. vivo is previewing the 398g headset at experience zones in 15 vivo Exclusive Stores across 10 cities, with a private experience available by registering through the vivo Newsroom. It uses the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip and dual micro-OLED displays, and it supports eye and hand control without a controller. vivo has given no price or sale date. Reviewers who tried it in China in 2025 reported that vivo executives hinted at around ¥10,000, which is not confirmed. For reference, Apple’s Vision Pro launched at $3,499 in the US and Samsung’s Galaxy XR at $1,799, so the headset’s price will decide how it compares.
