GetCompanion expands paid in-person companionship service from Gurugram to Delhi

Startup GetCompanion, which describes itself as India’s first “Human Presence Platform”, has extended its in-person companionship service from Gurugram to Delhi.

The platform connects users with what it calls trained and verified Companions for conversation, emotional support, shared interests and company during everyday activities. In Delhi, users can book companionship for walks, shopping, visits to cafés and restaurants, games, music and hospital visits, the company says.

GetCompanion says the service is limited to human interaction and does not include therapy, medical advice, caregiving or physical assistance. It lists young adults, working professionals, people going through personal transitions and elderly users among those it serves.

On safety, the company says all in-person meetings take place at verified residences or at public and secure locations such as malls, parks, cafés and restaurants, and that meetings in isolated or unsafe areas are not permitted. It says every Companion goes through identity and background checks, police verification, an empathy-focused psychometric assessment and specialised training.

“The need for companionship can arise at different stages of life and for different reasons,” said Shradha Chaturvedi, Founder and CEO of GetCompanion. “Someone may be living away from family, adjusting to a new city, going through a personal transition or simply looking for someone to talk to.” She added that the Delhi expansion is meant “to make genuine human presence more accessible while ensuring that every interaction remains safe, respectful and non-judgemental.”

The company says it plans to expand to more Indian cities but has not named them or given a timeline.
