LexisNexis Legal & Professional has launched Skills in Lexis Advance with Protégé in India, aimed at helping law firms, corporate legal departments and legal professionals complete complex legal work faster, with greater accuracy, consistency and control. The India launch adds guided Skills for complex legal work, grounded in authoritative LexisNexis India legal content, CaseAnalysis India, user-uploaded files and web sources.
Skills are a guided workflow capability: users select a Skill from a menu, after which Protégé presents a structured work plan rather than a single response, giving visibility and control as it executes tasks and produces review-ready legal work product. The initial portfolio covers regulatory and compliance, corporate and commercial, litigation and dispute resolution, legal education and training, and general legal tasks, incorporating Skills from LexisNexis and Anthropic, with more in development.
India-specific Skills support contract analysis, amendment tracking, NDA and playbook-based review, issue escalation and legal risk assessment, while litigation Skills assist with drafting written submissions, reviewing witness statements, assessing demand letters and triaging summons, court orders and notices in Indian proceedings.
The platform also includes Protégé Vault, a secure workspace where legal teams can upload, store and analyse collections of matter materials, preserving context across sessions for drafting, review and analysis, with outputs linking back to source material for verification. Lexis Advance with Protégé additionally brings multiple AI models into a secure LexisNexis workspace — Legal AI responses grounded in LexisNexis India content, CaseAnalysis India and user-uploaded files, while General AI can draw on real-time web sources when broader context is needed.
“India’s legal market is embracing AI at pace, but meaningful adoption depends on trust, accuracy and clear human oversight. Skills in Lexis Advance® with Protégé™ combine guided legal workflows, trusted India legal content, CaseAnalysis India and secure technology to help legal teams realise the benefits of AI without compromising professional judgment or the authority and confidence their work demands,” said Gaythri Raman, Managing Director, Southeast Asia and India, LexisNexis Legal & Professional.
Skills in Lexis Advance with Protégé are now available in India, with additional Skills and capabilities planned over time.
