Consumer electronics brand Mivi has inaugurated a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad backed by an investment of ₹200 crore, which it says marks a decade of building products in India.

The investment was made through Avishakaran Industries Pvt Ltd. Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu attended the inauguration, along with Anudeep Durishetty, IAS, Joint Secretary, ITE&C, Government of Telangana, and K. Shashanka, IAS, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC).

According to Mivi, the facility has a production capacity of 5 lakh earbuds and 75,000 soundbars a month. It says about 2,500 people are employed at its Hyderabad facility.

Mivi, which describes itself as a homegrown brand, says it has grown from an audio company into a consumer electronics company over the past decade. Its range spans true wireless earbuds, neckbands, headphones, speakers and soundbars. It recently entered smartphones with the Mivi One 5G, and its proprietary technology portfolio includes 3D Stage and Mivi AI. The company says its next phase of growth will build on this expansion beyond audio, with the aim of developing a broader range of technology products and competing with international brands.

“The inauguration of this facility marks an important milestone as we complete ten years of building in India,” said Midhula Devabhaktuni, Co-founder of Mivi. “We have always believed in developing products and capabilities here, with Indian consumers at the centre.”

Viswanadh Kandula, Co-founder, said the Hyderabad facility “reflects our confidence in India’s potential as a hub for electronics manufacturing,” and that as the company expands into smartphones and other categories it will “continue investing in innovation and building products for Indian consumers.”

Mivi says the investment supports the aims of Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The announcement does not say when production started or whether the stated capacity is reached today, and it gives no output figures. It also does not say whether the 2,500 jobs are new or what share of them are direct employees, how much of the content is made in India, whether Mivi received state incentives, or whether the plant will make smartphones. All figures are the company’s own and were not independently verified.
