PRAMA has introduced a “Made-in-India” suite of video security and Advanced Traffic Management Solutions (ATMS) designed for Indian roads, highways and toll plazas. The company says the AI-based system aims to cut congestion, speed up incident response, track fleet movement and secure transport infrastructure.
Toll plazas, PRAMA says, still struggle with traffic delays, revenue leakage and safety problems despite electronic tolling. It lists slow or inconsistent tag reads, mixed traffic speeds and peak-hour overflows, along with tailgating, vehicle misclassification and vehicles without valid tags. It also points to hardware wear from heat, rain, dust and vibration, power or network outages, poor integration between older weigh-in-motion scales and newer cameras, last-minute lane changes and risks to staff who step into live lanes.
For tolling, PRAMA says its system uses automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras to log vehicles and help curb toll evasion, AI analytics to flag accidents, stalled vehicles and violations with video evidence for control rooms, and visual alerts combined with weight monitoring to spot overloaded trucks. For urban traffic, it offers mobile enforcement kits that link body-worn cameras and police mobile systems to a central command platform.
The suite rests on the company’s own Ranginview IP cameras for low-light video, facial recognition terminals and motion sensors, and PRAMA Video Management Software, which monitors live streams and can trigger automated responses. PRAMA says the platform combines traffic monitoring, incident detection, ANPR, speed enforcement, vehicle classification and driver behaviour analytics, and works with mixed traffic and smart city projects. Its products are made in India with Indian R&D teams, under the tagline “Made for India, Made by India and Made in India”.
The announcement does not name any toll operator, highway authority or city using the system, and gives no accuracy, cost or performance figures.
